Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1987, the award-winning Long Point course is the primary golf course for members of The Amelia Island Club. Golfweek named it one of the “Top 50 Courses in Florida,” and it is one of Golf Digest’s “Best Places to Play.”
A par 72 with back-tee yardage of 6,775 yards, this course offers tight fairways, an array of natural hazards (including eight water hazards), and elevated greens. While playing, you’ll wind through three distinctive and spectacular settings: beautiful salt marshes, thick pine and oak forest, and breathtaking oceanfront dunes (where you’ll find the distinctive back-to-back par-3 holes.
Guests of Omni Amelia Island Resort can reserve tee times a day in advance, based on availability.
Built in 1972, the 18-hole Oak Marsh Golf Course is a classic Pete Dye-designed course. This course, which is open to the public, is noted for its narrow fairways winding through expansive salt marsh creeks and moss-draped oaks, with small greens. The course was kept as natural as possible with coquina shell cart paths and the preservation of native plant life.
On this 6,500-yard par 72 course, you’ll find 14 holes with water hazards and multiple bulk-headed greens. To add to the challenge, a variety of bunkers are dotted throughout the course.
Winding around Red Maple Lake, this Beau Welling-designed walking course (no golf carts) offers 10 holes ranging from 30 to 125 yards, as well as an 18-hole putting course. Little Sandy provides a fun-focused experience for golfers of all ages and abilities.
Along with waterfront views, the course also offers native grass areas, dunes, and areas within a diverse wildlife habitat.
The goal of this course was to create an environment that promotes community and camaraderie while offering families and those new to the game a playable and fun day. But even more experienced golfers will find a challenge in the bold and contoured greens. For example, the challenging island green on the final hole helps to close out the 10 holes in a dramatic fashion.
This course does not take reservations and is walk-in only.
